Welcome Advent!
We are at the beginning of our 4 Week Advent Season to Christmas. This week the students are learning about the Christmas Story and of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem.
Thank you for your great support in sending in items for our St. Vincent de Paul Food Hamper. It really helps our students learn the value of giving to others and being aware of need in others.

In Math we are using Rekenreks to help with subitizing numbers to 10, and creating different addition stories to 12. Ask your child about rekenreks - they're a fun way to learn basic facts.

In Science we are learning about the different seasons and how animals adapt for the weather. The terms hibernation, migration and adaptation are being discussed.

November is speeding by!
Today we had a kick off for our Camp-Read A Lot! Hope you have RSVP'd already! We are hosting a fun, informative evening to encourage a love of reading at home, and hopefully offer some ideas to make reading more fun for everyone!
The students had a Campfire Sing A Long, and heard and exciting story called "Journey". The students were reunited with their buddy class and completed an activity together.
Enjoy the pictures below!

This week we are learning about being made in God's image and that means to act and think like Him. We are really trying to show God that we love Him by our actions.

Book order forms went home this week and if you are interested in purchasing, the order must be received by Oct. 20. Please remember to add the GST to your items. Look at the buff coloured column to get the correct price.

Home Reading books will start next week, so watch for them and the letter explaining the routine.

We are learning about Primary and Secondary Colours this week, so ask your child about them. Below are pictures of the children learning to use eye droppers to mix colours. I love the intense look of concentration on their faces!
Enjoy!
