It's hard to believe that mid-June is upon us! Seems like yesterday when these little children entered Grade One, and now they seem so capable and aware of the world around them.
We have been working on a Current Event project and the students have written letters to our local Grocery Stores asking them to be proactive and altogether ban single use, plastic grocery bags before it becomes legislated. Thank you for supporting our students and sending in reusable containers. We took a quick shot one day of the reusable containers in our room.
In celebration of Pentecost, the Grade One students made Kites with symbols of the Holy Spirit. Then on June 12, we flew them up with our prayers to the Holy Spirit. It was a lot of fun!

We have been busy builders! We had Teacher's Pet into the classroom on March 6 as part of a STEM project (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and used Teva Planks to meet different building challenges.
In preparation for this activity, we tried buiding tall structures using different kinds of cups that could withstand a strong wind test.
Enjoy the pictures!
